FIZIK have developed a saddle designed specifically for the needs of 29er bikes. With longer saddle rails (K:IUM), this provides more adjustment which helps the rider's position (further forward) to deliver better power transfer.
THAR is specifically developed for big wheel bikes that have different geometry compared to 26”. It allows a compact forward sitting position thanks to its 95 mm rail adjustability.
Designed to allow optimum fit on 29in-wheeled mountain bikes. Larger wheels require different geometry, including longer chain stays and shallower seat angles. 29er's affect weight distribution and bike fit by moving the rider further towards the back of the bike. THAR is designed to counteract this effect to improve weight distribution for climbing and front-wheel grip. Normally fi'zi:k's saddles are categorized using Spine Concept. THAR is specific to the kind of bike.
The key element of the THAR's design is the shape and position of the saddle rails. With 25mm of extra adjustment to the rear of the rails, this allows the saddle to sit further forward than a normal saddle, improving bike fit, weight distribution and front wheel traction. THAR also includes a customizable tuner which allows the rider to personalize the level of base flex to suit their preferred comfort and riding style. Twin Flex Technology
Twin Flex construction combines two layers within the shell. A layer of multi-directional carbon fiber provides strength, while a bi-directional layer allows flex for comfort. The two layers are molded together, so that the stiffer outer layer controls the flexibility of the inner layer. Tuner Insert
Tuner insert technology allows riders to customize the flex of their saddle. The insert fits under the nose of the saddle and can be switched between hard and soft compounds according to preference. Attachment is by a single screw, so changing between inserts is quick and easy. Integrated Clip System
The Integrated Clip System (ICS) is an integrated interface in the saddle's base to allow quick attachment and removal of ICS accessories such as the FIZIK saddle Pa:k and Blin:k light.
