Santana Picante Tandem Bicycle

This is a custom Santana Picante, my wife and I purchased  in 2002 and which we have enjoyed immensely, both locally and on several Santana Tours in Hawaii, Sicily and Eastern Europe. We are now in our 70's and enjoying our e-bikes, so it's time to pass it on to another couple. The tandem has been professionally maintained and the components upgraded since its purchase from Santana. The bike has a hybrid architecture that provides a more upright riding posture, like a mountain bike. The tandem is a custom size (medium) for my height of 5'9" and my wife's height of 5'3". The bike is made of 7005 aluminum with a custom Silver Sparkle finish and outfitted with Shimano XTR brakes and derailleurs. There are 27 gear possibilities with three in the front and 9 in the rear. The bike is unsuspended and has a steel chrome fork, the stoker seat has a Tamer suspension seat post . The captain's seat is by Salla Anatomica, the stokers seat is gel padded. The 26 inch tandem wheels have 40 spoke each and run on 13mm puncture resistant  Continental road tires. There is an Arai drag brake on the rear wheel which is controlled by the stoker. There is a carbon fiber trunk post with two different sized storage options. The bike comes with a BikePro tandem shipping case, which is what we used on our international trips. For those opting for shipping, the bike will be disassembled and shipped in the bike case.
